The 2022 FIFA World Cup was attended by 3.4 million fans generating more than $17 billion in economic impact, and the thrilling final between Argentina & France was watched by over 1.5 billion people across the globe. As we look forward to the United States hosting the next iteration of the Men’s World Cup in 2026, and exploring the possibility of hosting the Women’s World Cup in 2027, we have assembled a panel of experts to give insight on how the world’s most popular sport is being marketed both internationally and locally, and what’s next on the horizon for San Diego.
