Senior Account Executive

Reports To: Account Supervisor, Account Director or Group Account Director

Supervises: Account Executive(s) and/or Account Coordinator(s)



The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the same duties and responsibilities of the Account Executive, but can do so effectively with less oversight from the Account Supervisor or Account Director. They are highly immersed and extremely knowledgeable in client’s business, and are comfortable conducting a strategic conversation the client without the presence of other senior team members. Their experience and ability to use/apply data and other information allows them to have a strong point-of-view and speak with confidence/authority when dealing with clients directly on matters related to the overall business, creative or media.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of client’s business and category in order to analyze and bring insights to the larger team to better work product and flow

Assist in development and completion of annual Brand Management business deliverables

  • Autonomously shepherd resource management of internal teams, assigning tasks accordingly
  • Anticipate and mitigate issues; be adept at identifying potential roadblocks related to budgets, resources and timelines, and escalating to Account Supervisor or (Group) Account Director when necessary
  • Be an agency advocate, managing work as efficiently as possible to enhance profitability

  • Track key competitors and actively participate in the development of annual competitive analysis
  • Draft executional briefs and first-pass creative and media briefs to be reviewed and approved by Account Supervisor or (Group) Account Director, followed by client approval/signature


  • Facilitate execution of client programs of work; oversee campaigns in development and in progress, maintaining schedules and prioritizing tasks to avoid project creep
  • Conduct executional creative and/or media kick-off meetings
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the production process; work with agency producers/traffic to develop project schedules and coordinate internal check-ins
  • Obtain client approval/signature on estimates authorizing work
  • Work with Media (planner, channel teams) to effectively/efficiently complete the campaign workbook and deploy digital campaigns in alignment with established processes
  • Work with Analytics to develop campaign reporting dashboards in alignment with brief/KPIs and ensure companion insights/optimizations documents are complete and sent to client in accordance with reporting schedule
  • Develop and maintain client status reports, hot lists and/or other project management tracking documents
  • Schedule collaborative meetings between internal teams to evaluate campaign performance for future client communication and planning
  • Coordinate and attend meetings/presentations with clients and agency staff; present strategic information to clients, when necessaryProof/QA creative development for content, proper length/units, accuracy and spelling; proof media presentations and documents for content, calculation accuracy and spelling
  • Manage client feedback, revisions and approvals through appropriate channels
  • Manage client billing and budget recaps with careful diligence; review budget tracking for accuracy on a quarterly basis (minimum) with Account Supervisor
  • Manage general account administration tasks include maintaining up-to-date client files, facilitating client birthdays, handling random client requests, etc.


  • Provide project level communications to agency and client teams
  • Develop brief conference reports recapping key decisions and action items after internal and external meetings


  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external parties to ensure client work moves efficiently through the agency from start to finish


Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Characteristics

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience; full service agency experience is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of creative development and production processes, workflow and terminology for both traditional and digital media programs
